Our pork is certified purebred Blood Berkshire Hogs farrowed at Creek Place free-range farm in Pennsylvania where “happy pigs live naturally”. The pigs are given the freedom to roam in the pasture at will, and are fed a totally vegetarian-based diet, using whole ingredients and no byproducts. Corn and small grains are grown on the farm’s 117 acres for a more self-sufficient diet and to provide straw bedding for the sleeping areas.

Fresh-caught from sustainable farms on the West Coast of Scotland, our salmon is flown in twice each week and smoked in-house to ensure the best possible flavour and freshness. The Scottish Salmon Company farmers use best practice methods including specially formulated feed for optimal nutritional value and taste.

Pressed juice is simply the closest thing to raw, pure fruit and vegetables, delivering an awesome concentration of nutrients that would be difficult to achieve by eating whole fruit and veg.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are pressed using a hydraulic juicer, using pressure to extract the juice directly from the pulp. The great thing about pressed juices is that, unlike blending or grinding methods, the fruits and vegetables are not exposed to oxidization or heat during the process and so do not degrade, keeping the many essential vitamins, enzymes, minerals and proteins stay intact.

For an added nutrient boost, ask for a shot of fresh Bermuda-grown wheatgrass. Wheatgrass is a concentrated source of vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B3 and B6, potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, manganese and amino acids. Wheatgrass is believed by many to have beneficial effects* on haemoglobin production, blood-sugar disorders like diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol, detoxing the liver, respiratory tract complaints, joint pain and arthritis.

And, because it is extracted from the sprout before the seed begins to form, wheatgrass is gluten-free!

*these health claims are yet to be scientifically proven

One of the best things about dining in Bermuda is the local fish. Not only do we love to support the local fishing industry, but fish never tastes better than when it was freshly caught that day.

All of our bread is baked in-house, using organic, un-bleached and chemical free flour. The flour is dry-milled, which enables this pure and natural product to stay fresh for longer without preservatives.

Not only super tasty, our bread benefits from the wholegrain goodness of using the bran, germ and endosperm; packed with fibre, protein, B-vitamins and essential fatty acids. These are friendly carbs!

Several studies have shown monosodium glutamate (MSG) to have neurotoxin and other negative health effects, but the debate continues with the US Food and Drug Administration classifying the product “generally regarded as safe”. We prefer to err on the side of caution when it comes to our customers’ health, so do not use MSG.

Our commitment to using clean ingredients in their most natural form extends to the seasoning we use, including salt. The minimal processing of sea salt retains trace minerals and nutrients, and also gives a delightful crunchy texture and better flavour.

We’re often asked what the secret to our amazing fries is, and we’re going to let you in on it.

The answer? We keep it simple. That means we use real potatoes that we cut ourselves, and fry them to crisp-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside perfection using GMO-free oil.

Everything at Devil’s Isle is made in-house and that includes our sauces and dressings. What better way to finish off a great salad than with a beautiful homemade dressing, and even something as simple as toast is made into a slice of heaven with a slathering of delicious, additive-free jam.

Unlike many egg farmers whose birdhouses can hold up to 250,000 hens at any one time, Organic Valley’s average laying flock size is a small and far more humane 5,300 birds, with a maximum of 10,000 per house. The hens are not caged, and get plenty of natural light to encourage a healthy laying cycle. In addition, egg farmers are required to provide access to the outdoors with a minimum of 1.75 sq.ft of indoor space and 5 sq.ft of free-roaming outdoor space per bird. Organic Valley’s Animal Care Guidelines also ensure that farmers provide scratch areas, roosts, plenty of nests and constant access to clean water for all of their hens, which are fed on 100% vegetarian omega-3 enriched organic feed. No antibiotics or synthetic hormones are used.
